Hi, my name is DeeJay Dallas and welcome to my Recruit Diary. I live in Brunswick, Georgia where I currently attend Glynn Academy and am set to graduate in the spring of 2017. After high school I plan on attending a division one school and playing football.
I don’t have a set position and therefore I am listed as an athlete. As an athlete I play on both sides of the football including special teams. I get to experience all aspects of football as an athlete and that is probably what I enjoy most about my position. Last season I led my team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Along with wide receiver, I also play defensive back and return kicks for my team. Currently I have eleven scholarship offers from some of the top programs in the nation, including Auburn, Florida, Missouri and South Carolina.
On Saturday, July 18, 2015 I attended the University of Georgia’s Dawg Night. In attendance were some of the top players in the state and in the country. That day I committed to Georgia. I committed because Georgia feels and felt like the right place to be. My family really likes it and is my home state’s te
If I had to describe my play style it would be fast and physical. Playing fast and physical is important but only important if you have good technique and play smart. I pride myself on working on my technique and my skills to back up my physical attributes. Not everybody can play smart under control football but the ones who are able to end up being the best because physical skills can only take a player so far.
My favorite players would undoubtedly have to be Tyrann Mathieu, Darius Slay, Jarvis Landry and Malcolm Mitchell. Tyrann Mathieu and Darius Slay are my favorite players on defense and are two players that I try to emulate when I play defensive back. Tyrann Mathieu plays with fearlessness like no other and Darius Slay is arguably the best at what he does which is covering people and not to mention he is from my hometown. Jarvis Landry was always flying under the radar because Odell Beckham was the star. Although he was always underrated, Jarvis was always a great player. Malcolm Mitchell is the man. He does everything right and is a great player.
My family inspires me to be great on and off the field. They are my biggest fans and I want to repay them for that. A great football player isn’t defined by size but by skill, heart and determination! A great work ethic can take you a lot farther than talent alone can. Hard work combined with physical and technical skills is unstoppable. During my time playing football I want to be the best I can be. I want to work to be the best I can be. My favorite moment ever playing football has to be almost breaking the school record for the longest touchdown with a 94-yard touchdown (the record was 99).
That’s all I got for you at the moment. You can follow me on Twitter @DeejayDallas5 to follow my season and get updates about my next diary entry. Make sure to check out all the rest of the player profiles and come back often to read up on our recruitment processes.
